It is interesting to note how our "body/mind systems" have ways of telling us what is wrong, but that we are often forced not to listen, because doing so would lead to social exclusion or the embarrassment of others. We can wonder about what kind of world we would have had, if we instead had been encouraged to listen to that voice.Jack Molayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03629363646482611722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2472400923228993687.post-34964992160774476782020-12-31T05:02:19.014-08:002020-12-31T05:02:19.014-08:00the eternal struggle of humanity is how much to li...the eternal struggle of humanity is how much to listen to the inner voice versus the external messaging that helps us to conform in order to avoid persecution. As we get older we tend to shed the latter concern and listen to what drives us internally. However that journey is still full of uncertainty and leads to depressive moments which have us questioning whether we are on the right path. It just proves what a challenge being human is particularly if one rubs against the grain as much as we do.joanna Santoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16722222181799879120noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2472400923228993687.post-72225704706925270862020-12-30T08:00:58.492-08:002020-12-30T08:00:58.492-08:00Interesting post, Jack. Thank you for publicizing it.

Dr. Escalante's last paragraph says so much:
"It is time that we start honoring the courage and strength of depressed people. It is time we start valuing the incredible capacity of our biology to find a way in hard times. And it is time that we stop pretending depressed people are any different than anyone else."

Similarly, transgender people are no more different than anyone. We're simply examples of normal human diversity.Emma Grayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10531144162442571276noreply@blogger.com
